Less Waste, More Nourishment!

Did you know that about 40% of all food in the US goes unsold or uneaten? This statistic is devastating considering that 1 in every 3 Coloradans experience food insecurity. As defined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, food insecurity differs from hunger and is defined as – “the lack of consistent access to enough food to live an active and healthy life.”

It seems unfair (and even cruel) to throw away food that has been unsold when there are families in our communities struggling every day to provide for their loved ones. For that reason, we have decided to raise awareness and support for a local grassroots cause vested in the nourishment of our community, they are called WE DON’T WASTE! Founded in 2009, WE DON’T WASTE is one of the largest food recovery organizations in the state of Colorado and their efforts impact the lives of many food-insecure families in our area.

They prioritize perishable items such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and proteins which have a shorter shelf life and require a fast and efficient distribution for safe consumption on the tables of those in need. These foods also have the greatest environmental impact once disposed of because they end up in landfills where it decomposes and, in the process, emits methane and other greenhouse gases.

We are committed to raising awareness in our community and giving our customers, business partners, and anybody else that cares the ability to give back and make an impact themselves. We will donate $10 to our current Community Cause campaign for every person you recommend. Let’s show our nation’s heroes that their service and sacrifice have not gone unnoticed!
